Job Description-Protein Purification Scientist
rPeptide is seeking a Scientist who is a self-starter, goal-oriented, energetic, innovative, and a team player. We are looking for an individual who will strengthen and grow our existing protein development and production team. This position will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and performing protocols for the analysis and isolation of various enzymes, peptides, and antibodies.
Develop and execute protein/peptide purification and analytical assays for small to medium scale applications
Will be performing multiple projects for the development and manufacturing of rPeptide products
Prepare and complete technical documents such as SOPs, training, and batch records
Work with current team in the research, development, and manufacturing of new products
Collaborates effectively to achieve results as an individual as well as through others
With minimal supervision, generates and delivers concise/clear technical presentations to senior management
Generate and manage comprehensive budget and timelines for projects

*Qualifications- Protein Purification Scientist
Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related field from an acclaimed university with 5-10 years of experience in an industrial setting preferred
Experience with independent and team problem solving of both technical and logistical project issues
Scientific understanding of current purification technologies, as well as the ability to research, explore, and develop novel approaches to further advance, innovate, and expand current practices.
Experience designing and performing analytical assays including but not limited to: UV-Visible Spectroscopy, SDS-PAGE (Sodium dodecyl sulfate PolyAcrylamide Gel Electrophoresis), Western blot, ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ESI/MALDI mass spectrometry, and FPLC.
Proven experience supporting the generation of difficult-to-express proteins and peptide preferred
Scale up process development experience preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong leadership skills; must have management experience in running a lab and working with multiple teams.
Strong background in protein biochemistry and molecular biology techniques
Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and handle multiple priorities and projects at once.
Must be flexible and okay with change.
Must work together on projects as a team. Also, be able to work independently.
This is a full-time position, Monday thru Friday, extended hours if needed. Includes benefits.
Salary will be in the range of $60,000+ based on experience.
