Design and implement research protocols; adapt new procedures, methods or instrumentation relative to research procedures;
Collect, prepare and analyze research data; keep a detailed notebook summarizing experiments and recording research data;
Maintain computer database of research data;
Tabulate and display data for presentation in research conferences and for manuscript preparation;
Use graphics and statistical software to analyze and present data;
Search pertinent scientific literature as needed.
Specific research and experimental procedures/tests/area of study: The candidate will pursue research to promote the goals of the Dr. Lominadze Laboratory. Knowledge of RNA-seq analysis, bioinformatics and noncoding RNAs is helpful. Isolation and analyses of exosomes and cell culture techniques are an advantage.
Assume primary responsibility for the development of his or her research and career.
Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as appropriate.
Perform the research required by the faculty supervisor to a high standard and in accordance with all institutional and federal regulations.
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and appropriate experience and training within a selected area of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.
Completed a doctoral degree in a PhD in neuroscience, physiology or biomedical sciences.
