Involved in analysis and utilization of both characterized and newly found peripheral and brain pro-and anti-inflammatory cytokines and immunocytes associated to neuronal injury. Position involves immunology, neuroimmunology, and cell biology assays. Testing the biological response of proanti-inflammatory cytokines to neuropathogenesis and neuronal injury and recovery.
Performing immunology, neuropathology, histology, and molecular biology assays, and response for experimental therapy and basic biomedicine tests as requested by advisor. Analyzing histological, pathological, and the molecular and cellular changes of immune regulation to evaluate the injury mechanisms and the immune signaling pathways associated to the CNS diseases.
Develop in vitro and in vivo models to test systemic immunoresponses associated to neuronal injury, cell-based immunotherapy and brain targeting delivery.
Will response for CO34 stem cells, bone marrow stem cells, hPBMC, and cellular characterization of the peripheral and the brain cytokines and immunocytes including monocytes, dendritic cells, and T cells.
Shall be responsible to test the systemic immune response and neuroinflammation, cell based immunotherapy, nanoparticles targeted delivery, neuronal injury and therapeutic efficacy.
Will need to perform RNA, DNA, and protein isolation and identification experiments.
Other duties as assigned to fulfill research study.
Minimum Hire Rate
Ph.D. in area of project specialization, knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof or Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g. D.SC., M.D.). Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities. Ability to integrate resources, policies, and information for the determination of procedures, solutions, and other outcomes. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees and the public. Ability to plan and allocate the workload of students or volunteers, providing training and direction as needed.
Trained in immunology, knowledge of all related regulatory policies and procedures relevant to field of research study (i.e. IACUC, IBC, and CITI).
