A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, Horae Gene Therapy Center at UMASS Medical School. The successful postdoctoral candidate will work on projects focused on understanding the pathogenesis of retinal degeneration and developing novel gene therapeutics. The project involves basic cell and molecular biology techniques (including gene cloning, cell culture, transfection, immunoblotting, and immunofluorescence), developing and characterizing mouse models of retinal degeneration, and characterizing patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells. Qualifications: The candidates must have a PhD in biomedical sciences, with strong experience in basic molecular and cell biology.
