Baylor College of Medicine is located in Houston's Texas Medical Center, a 1,000-acre complex of 47 independent institutions. A Postdoctoral Fellow position working with David Nielsen PhD and Thomas Kosten MD in the Toomim Laboratory for Psychiatric Genetics Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavior Sciences located at Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Administration Medical Center. A Postdoctoral position is available for an experienced geneticist/molecular biologist to study the inter-individual genetic and epigenetic differences modulating therapeutic responses for the treatment of and vulnerability to develop psychiatric disorders and addiction. Research will be in a collaborative setting on projects designed by the PI. The projects will involve genetic, epigenetic and molecular techniques. Experience in these fields is recommended with expertise in miRNA analysis a plus.

Required: Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Neuroscience, or related field.
A strong publication record with excellent organization and communication skills are required.
Candidates must have a strong background in one or more of the following: genetics, epigenetics, or neuroscience.
The appointment will be initially for one year with possible renewal for up to five years, based on productivity.
The applicant is expected to apply for external post-doctoral funding.
Fluency in English and the ability to communicate and write in English are essential.
