The Columbia University Department of Dermatology Clinical Research Fellows Program offers clinical research experience across a spectrum of specialized academic interest areas. Working with our expert clinicians, the fellow will gain skills in clinical and translational research. The clinical fellow is expected to productively participate in the clinical and translational research activities of the Department of Dermatology, is expected to publish scholarly clinical research articles during their fellowship and is expected to make at least one scientific presentation. Fellows will assist in the acquisition of knowledge related to developing protocols for clinical research studies and utilizing methodology for measurement of clinical indicators, the proper conduct of observational and randomized clinical trials, and the appropriate data management. Fellows will also interact closely with basic scientists working on clinical correlative studies and translational research. Fellows may apply to one of the specialized tracks listed below, or to the general Translational Research Track.

Contact Dermatitis and Allergy Fellowship
Pediatric Dermatology Fellowship
Translational Research Fellowship
• MD or MD/PhD degree and completion of at least 1 year PGY1 residency (by June 30). Fellows may also have already completed dermatology residency.
• CV and 3 references
• Scores from the USMLE Steps 1 and 2. USMLE Step 3 (required to obtain New York State Medical License; must be obtained prior to start of fellowship)
• New York State Medical License; at the time of the beginning of the fellowship (July 1)
This is a one to two year fellowship. Each appointed term runs from July 1st through June 30th.
