A highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral research position is available in the Department of Immunology and Microbial Disease (DIMD) at the Albany Medical College. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to use multidisciplinary approaches spanning immunology, microbiology, and in vivo imaging to study the mechanism of neutrophilic inflammation during tuberculosis. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with investigators in the Department, as well as the Wadsworth Center, New York State Department of Health.
The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in immunology and/or microbiology or a related discipline. Extensive tissue culture (primary cell isolation) and BSL2 experience, basic molecular biology, biochemistry, and immunology techniques including multi-parameter flow cytometry, culturing bacteria, and light microscopy skills are desired. The candidate must have at least one first authored paper in a peer-reviewed journal. Animal handling experience and working in a BSL3 facility is preferred though not necessary.
