Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
Highly motivated Ph.D. candidates or recent postgraduates with strong interest in cancer biology are invited to apply to the laboratory of Dr. Chunling Yi at Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) for postdoctoral fellow positions.
Dr. Yi is an Associate Professor at Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at GUMC, the only NCI-designated Cancer Center in Washington, DC. The Yi lab is interested in dissecting signaling crosstalk between cancer pathways using a combination of molecular, cellular, biochemical and mouse genetic approaches and apply the knowledge gained to design of rational therapeutic strategies. In particular, the NIH-funded projects in the Yi lab focus on the study of the Hippo-Yap pathway in pancreatic, lung, liver and kidney cancers as well as in Neurofibromatosis Type II (NF2) through the use of both in vitro and in vivo approaches. Areas of interest include basic molecular pathogenesis, tumor microenvironment, tumor immunology, tumor metabolism, and drug resistance. The lab has been very productive with publications or manuscripts pending in high-impact journals such as Cancer Cell, Development Cell
and Nature. The successful applicant will have the unique opportunity to select from a wide-range of exciting projects that address fundamental questions of tumorigenesis.
The ideal candidate should be a US citizen or green card holder with fewer than three (3) years postdoctoral experience and a strong publication record in a related field. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated skills and knowledge in molecular and cell biology, immunology, metabolism, and genetics. Prior experience working with rodents is strongly desired, but not required.
To apply, please email: Chunling Yi, Ph.D. (firstname.lastname@example.org); attach CV, Cover Letter (stating motivation, past accomplishments, and research goals) and contact information for references.
