Summary
A postdoctoral position is immediately available in Department of Medicine and Cardiovascular Research Institute at Baylor College of Medicine. The project is seeking highly motivated and experienced candidate to study the pathogenesis of heart failure and develop potential novel therapeutics to cue heart diseases.
Job Duties
- Conducts experiments independently as well as coordinate and collaborate with other people as a team. Results will be collected and analyzed by the person and then report to the Principle Investigator.
- Assists Principle Investigator to maintain and organize the lab. Attend and present preliminary data at lab meetings regularly.
- Maintains small experimental animals such as mice and rats.
- Assists Principal Investigators with writing manuscripts describing research results for submission to scientific journals. This includes generating graphs and tables for internal review, for grants and for publications.
- Collaborates with other researchers, including graduate students, technicians, and faculty members, to achieve research goals.
- Presents research findings at departmental seminars, conferences, and workshops.
- Participates in research meetings and discussions to exchange ideas and provide input.
- Communicates effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and collaborators through written reports, emails, and oral presentations.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experiences in the research of cardiovascular biology, inflammation and cell metabolism are preferred.
- The individual must also have strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively and work on multiple unrelated projects.
- Doctorate degree in biology, cell biology, biochemistry physiology, pharmacology or a closely related science is required.
