Job Title:  Postdoctoral opportunities in Stem Cell Biology and Gene Therapy
Job Number:  4007762
Date Posted:  07/27/2010
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled

Job Description

Postdoctoral fellowship positions are available within Professor Stefan Karlsson’s group to work on the regulation of hematopoietic stem cells and development of cell and gene therapies. We are investigating the regulation of stem cells by the Smad signaling pathway and are working on the discovery of novel stem cell regulators to increase self-renewal and expand human and murine hematopoietic stem cells. The laboratory also investigates two human hematological disorders, Diamond Blackfan anemia and Gaucher disease to clarify disease mechanisms and develop cell and gene therapies. The successful postdoctoral candidate can select between different projects, depending on interests and expertise.

The scientific environment is excellent and is a part of The Hemato-Linne Program at Lund Stem Cell Center. The Laboratory has an extensive network of local and international collaborators.
