Job Description
Postdoctoral Fellowship in the immunologic responses to radiation injury.
A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately for a motivated individual to study the acute and chronic effects of radiation on immune system function at Georgetown Univ. A variety of genetically engineered mouse models will be used to elucidate molecular mechanisms. The fellow will study innate and adoptive immune responses after irradiation. In addition, the fellow will contribute to overseeing our mouse model colony. The project is funded by DOE and NASA, and is integrated in a comprehensive program which also includes metabolomics and bioinformatics studies.
A qualified applicant should have a PhD (or equivalent) degree in Immunology or Cellular and Molecular Biology. Skills in cellular and/or molecular immunology, signal transduction, and basic animal handing are required. Background in omics technologies and/or bioinformatics is a plus but not required. The fellow is expected to collaborate with metabolomics and bioinformatics team members, participate in laboratory meetings and journal clubs, prepare manuscripts for publication, and present at scientific meetings.
