The Institute for Systems Biology (ISB) is an internationally renowned non-profit research institute dedicated to the study and application of systems biology. Founded in 2000 in Seattle, Washington, ISB's goal is to unravel the mysteries of cellular networks and identify strategies that will usher in a new era of P4 Medicine (predictive, preventive, participatory and personalized medicine).
ISB is seeking to employ a highly-qualified and creative postdoctoral fellow with an active interest in computational systems biology. Preference will be given to candidates with experience and skills in information retrieval and visualization, software design and development, and numerical computing. Experience with high-throughput biological instrumentation and data is beneficial. Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent.
The project will undertake research in the development of analytical methods to support a new generation of targeted systems biology experiments. This will entail the development of innovative visual analytics coupled with heterogeneous information retrieval techniques to allow for the design and exploration of genomic and proteomic experiments. The project will explore nontraditional approaches based on semantic and information distances to integrate data from a variety of data sources including disease literature, interaction databases, and instrumentation details.
ISB is an M/F/D/V EOE.
