Job Description

A POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH position is available in the Department of Pathology, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA to study regulatory pathways in endothelial cell diseases. The lab has a special focus on mechanistic understanding of endothelial cell pathologies as they relate to pathological angiogenesis in adult cancer and to vascular tumors and vascular malformations in children. We utilize cell lines, animal models and clinical samples to study cell survival pathways, in particular the Akt pathway, and their roles in endothelial cells. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on research projects involving endothelial genomics, signal transduction, transcription factors and genetically-engineered animal models with strong potential for translational research. Candidates should hold a PhD and have strong background in molecular and cell biology. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and demonstrate a passion for science, innovative thinking and the ability to work independently and effectively. Baylor College of Medicine is located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center (TMC) with abundant opportunities for interactions and collaborations with other labs in TMC medical institutions.
