Job Description
This postdoctoral fellowship position in my laboratory is for a highly-motivated scientist with an Ph.D. and / or M.D. with an interest in the roles of inflammation in skin cancer. There is a wealth of clinical and scientific evidence that indicates the great importance of the immune reactions in promoting and controlling tumors. Using a combination of archived human material as well as freshly isolated human tumors, we will identify the immune cells present in skin cancers, characterize their interactions, and identify novel targets for therapeutic intervention.
Important qualifications include experience with molecular biology and immunology, specifically with tissue culture of human cells, FACS analysis, and immune function assays. Prior experience with and willingness to work with mice, and prior experience with microarray-based transcriptional profiling, would be highly advantageous. The candidate is expected to be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English, be able to present and analyze data, prepare manuscripts for publication, and present data in oral form for talks.
