A post-doctoral position in Perinatal Neuroscience is available at the Perinatal Centre, Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. The group is focusing on the role of innate immunity in perinatal brain injury and in the current project we will examine the role of Toll-like receptors and antioxidant systems with respect to the developing blood brain barrier (BBB). The project involves the use of well established transgenic animal models of perinatal brain injury and development of in vitro models of the BBB.
We are seeking a qualified and highly motivated candidate with strong research experience in brain development at a cellular and molecular level. Previous experience in small animal surgery and perinatal BBB studies is meritorious. The applicants should have a PhD in medical or biological sciences.
The position is part of an international collaborative project “Neuroscience on Barriers in Development” (NEUROBID) funded by the EU-FP7.
